The best advice I can give you is this: Shut up and listen.
If it's in your power, go out of your way to be a good listener—to truly hear what people are saying with their words as well as respond thoughtfully.
Be willing to compromise and collaborate with the other person, and remember that communication is a two-way street.
If you want the other person to listen to you,
you need to listen to them first.
